Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the GSMNP with discount lodging

This year, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park celebrates its 75th anniversary. As folks travel to the Park, one WNC county is offering a cost-saving initiative called “Park It Here.”

From now through April 30, 2009, the Park It Here program in Jackson County, N.C. will offer discount room rates of $75 per night at 11 participating hotels, bed and breakfast inns, rentals cabins and motels, plus visitors will receive complimentary park maps.

Jackson County is adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and serves as the primary southern gateway for visitors who access the park via U.S. 441.

The special rate of $75, plus tax, is available every night through April 30 with no minimum number of nights required per stay.

Participating accommodations are: Apple Dumplin’ Getaway, Balsam Mountain Inn, Best Western River Escape Inn & Suites, Comfort Inn, Davis House, Dillsboro Inn, Fox Trail Cabins, Holiday Inn Express, Laurelwood Mountain Inn, Mountain Brook Fireplace Cottages, and the University Inn.
