Don’t Forget to Recycle

Yes, this blog is normally devoted to free deals and discounts in WNC. I am veering off-topic tonight because of something I witnessed while attending a Boy Scout award ceremony in Asheville. At the reception, dozens of empty 2-liter plastic bottles were simply tossed in the trash. I was deeply concerned that they were not teaching the boy scouts recycling, but really it doesn’t matter that they were boy scouts, we ALL should be recycling.

Twitter pal @bkorzeniewski alerted me to a law that will go into effect in N.C. beginning October 1, 2009. This law will make it illegal to toss plastic bottles in the trash. Read WRAL’s story about this new law here.

If we don’t take care of the environment, who will?
