Grandfather Mountain Offers $1 Admission for High Country Residents
Grandfather Mountain in the High Country of North Carolina is offering $1 admission to residents of six N.C. counties and their guests during the month of April. The counties include Mitchell, Avery, Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany and Wilkes.
The discount is extended to students who attend colleges and universities in the High Countryand to guests traveling in the same vehicle. Participants will be asked to present a driver’s license, college ID or local utility bill as proof of High Country residency.
Grandfather Mountain is open every day in April, weather permitting. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 1 – 3 with ticket sales ending at 5 p.m. Hours extend to 7 p.m. on April 4, with ticket sales ending at 6 p.m. For current conditions, call the entrance gate at 828-733-4337.
